Sex Pistols, Ä°ngiliz punk rock türünde simgeleÅŸmiÅŸ ve pek çok gruba ilham kaynağı olmuÅŸ bir punk grubudur. BBC tarafından “tam anlamıyla bir Ä°ngiliz punk grubu” ÅŸeklinde tasvir edilmiÅŸtir. Grup yalnızca üç sene boyunca (1975-1978) aktif kalmış ve dağılmıştır. Bu süre içerisinde yalnızca bir stüdyo albümü kaydetmiÅŸ (1977′de Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols) ve dört adet single yayınlamışlardır.

Punk Rock’ın kurucusu olarak bilinen Amerikalı bir gruptur. 70′li yılların ortalarında kurulan grup punk denilince akla gelen ilk isimlerdendir.Müzikleri basit olarak görülsede bir çok kiÅŸiye ulaÅŸmışlardır. Grup, 1974 yılında, Joey Ramone vokalde, Johnny Ramone gitarda, Dee Dee Ramone bass gitarda ve Tommy Ramone davulda olmak üzere New York’ta kurulmuÅŸtur.Öldükten sonra bile hayranları tarafından anılmaya devam edilmektedirler.

Ramones, ayrıca bir plak anlaÅŸması imzalamayı beceren ilk New York’lu punk rock grubudur.
